Laura Lucas

About

Laura writes love stories that appeal to different kinds of readers.

She enjoys writing stories that celebrate love, whether it’s romantic or familial.

Laura has always been a romantic. She believes it started in kindergarten when she fell in love with a curly-haired cutie named Norman. After calling him on the kitchen (rotary) phone to ask him point-blank if he loved her (he said yes), she fell head over her five-year-old heels. But then, he betrayed her by playing on the swings with her so-called best friend, and even her mother’s shoulder couldn’t comfort her.

Fast forward to middle school, and Laura was reading Forever by Judy Blume surreptitiously in the cafeteria (oh, the scandal) and crushing on Ponyboy from The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. High school years were too busy to be bothered with reading, but in her twenties, she discovered her mother’s Harlequin Presents paperbacks and never looked back from reading romance.

Laura has read all the romance sub-genres and her favorites include time travel, regency, chick-lit and contemporary. These days she reads a lot of non-fiction, mostly for research, and gets her entertainment from Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. She loves to watch sitcoms and rom-coms but if she has to share the TV, she and her husband will devour whole seasons of shows, mostly historical dramas.

Laura lives in Virginia with her family.
